Tea Seed Powder

Other Name : Camellia Saponin, Oil Residue Powder of Camellia Seed, Camellia Extraction Powder, Tee See Saponin.
Tea Seed Powder is a residue remaining after the oil has been extracted from the seeds of certain plants in the Camellia family. It is a compressed into a cake shape (Micro Powder also avilable) and contain saponin (a toxin reacting in the blood) suitable for many applications.

Granular substance containing 11 to 15% Saponin. Saponin has been shown to be an effective fish killing agent with a 40 fold margin of safety towards freshwater and marine invertebrates, especially prawns and shrimps. The differentia toxicity of Saponin towards fin-fish in the presence of shrimps makes it an ideal selective toxicant for the removal of fin-fish in shrimp aquaculture containments. Saponin, as the active principle in TSM, operates by paralysis of the nervous system of fish, followed by respiratory inhibition. Additionally, low concentrations of Saponin have been indicated for the inducement of molting in shrimp culture. In an extensive culture of shrimps where algal blooms are desirable, decomposed tea seed cake powder will act as an organic fertilizer.

Tea Seed Powder is extensively used in aquaculture to eliminate predatory fishes in the fish and prawn ponds. By colincidence Tea Seed Powder is also quite potent molluscicide. Normally will apply for 15kg - 25 kg per ha per week.

- Eliminate the unwanted or wild fishes in the shrimp ponds.
- Automatically decompose into organic fertilizer which can promote the growth of algae.
- Help shrimps take off shell earlier and enhance the growth of shrimps.
